Exclusive Interview
9 April 2009

This week we catch up with Hannah Sharp, the 2nd longest standing consultant in the tank, who joined us a year and a half ago from our sister company Ashton Consulting.

So, Hannah how are you?

I'm good thank you! I'm working hard to tie up all loose ends before an extended weekend for Easter!

Great, let's get straight down to business, tell us what have you been up to since joining the tank?

Well, in my first year I was appointed to head up the creative desk, initially covering the south west but then expanding my market into the Thames Valley. This involves all things creative including advertising, marketing, branding, packaging, dm, design for print and digital. It soon became apparent that in order to exploit the market as best as possible I needed to expand my desk to cover the Thames Valley area as well. This expansion became a great opportunity for me to work with some of the country's leading agency's and talented candidates across the board.

How are you finding the current market?

I'm finding that people's general perception at the moment is that there is a lack of jobs, although in some cases this is true, here at the tank we are as busy as ever! The market is certainly changeable but we're finding it is mainly industry specific and in light of this I have an abundance of clients who are urgently seeking staff and need them to start yesterday!!

Recently we have found that we are being contacted by a lot more candidates, however its proving more difficult to find candidates with the most desirable skills.

Word on the street is that you have taken over Ellie's desk, could you tell us more about that?

Due to the fact that Ellie is about to drop (baby that is), she will now be on leave for some time which leaves the client servicing desk for the Thames Valley in my capable hands - lucky Ellie! As I already have a good understanding of the agency's in the Thames valley, it puts me in good stead to continue Ellie's sterling work.

Any plans for the Easter break?

YES - eating loads of chocolate and praying for sunshine!

Thanks Hannah, have a great one!
